（译者提示：福雷斯特·冈普，俗称阿甘，是美国百部经典名片之一《阿甘正传》里的主人公，他是位智障患者，同时腿也有疾，须靠拐杖行路。在孩提时代，他受尽同学欺负，只有一个名叫珍妮的女孩同情他。每次阿甘受同学欺负时，珍妮无能为力，只能大声对阿甘喊：跑，阿甘，快跑！“Run， Forrest， run！”在珍妮的鼓励下，发生了奇迹，阿甘居然飞奔起来，并且腿疾也完全治好。阿甘的智力依旧，但是他憨厚，诚实、守信、认真、勇敢而重视感情，对人只懂付出不求回报。是个可爱的人。）

Forrest Gump

The day finally arrived. Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven. He is at the Pearly Gates, met by St. Peter himself. However, as Forrest approaches the gatekeeper, he notices that the gates are closed.

St. Petersaid, 'Well, Forrest, it is certainly good to see you. We have heard a lotabout you.
I must tell you, though, that Heaven has been filling up fast, so here lately we have been administering an entrance examination for all newcomers. The test is short, but you have to pass it before you can get into Heaven.'

Forrest responds, 'It sure is good to be here, St. Peter, sir. But nobody ever told meabout any entranceexam. I sure hope that the test ain't too hard. Life was a big enough test asit was.'
St. Peter continued, 'Yes, I know,  Forrest, but the test is only three questions.

First: Whattwo days of the week Begin withthe letter T?
Second: How manyseconds are there in a year?
Third: What is God's first name?'

Forrest leaves to think the questions over. He returns the next day and sees St. Peter, who waves him up, and says, 'Now that you have had a chance to think the questions over, tell me your answers.'

Forrest replied, "Well the First one -- which two days in the week begins with theletter 'T'? Shucks, that one is easy. That would be Today and Tomorrow.'

The Saint's eyes opened wide and he exclaimed, 'Forrest, that is not what I was thinking, but you do have a point, and I guess I did not specify, so I will give you credit for that answer. How about the next one?' asked St. Peter.

'Howmany seconds in a year ? Now that one is harder,' replied Forrest,'but I thunk and thunk about that, and I guess the only answer can be twelve.'

Astounded,St. Peter said, 'Twelve? How in Heaven's name could you come up withtwelve seconds in a year?'
Forrestreplied, 'Shucks, there's got to be twelve: January 2nd, February 2nd, March2nd... '

'Hold it,'interrupts St. Peter. 'I see where you are going with this, and I see your point, though that was not quite what I had in mind. But, I will have to give you credit for that one, too. Let us go on with the third and final question. Can you tell me God's first name'?
Sure,'Forrest replied, 'it's Andy.'

'Andy!?'exclaimed an exasperated and frustrated St Peter.

'Ok, I can understand how you came up with your answers to my first two questions, but just how in the world did youcome up with the name Andy as the first name of God?'

'Shucks,that was the easiest one of all,' Forrest replied.'I learnt it from the song,
ANDY WALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TALKSWITH ME,
ANDY TELLSME I AM HIS OWN.'
St. Peter opened the Pearly Gates, and said: 'Run, Forrest, run!'

Lord,
please give me a sense of humor. Give me the ability to understand a clean joke, to get some humor out of life, and to pass it on to other folks.
这一天终于到了。阿甘死后到了天堂。在天国的大门口，圣彼得亲自来见他。当他靠近门卫的时候，他发现天堂的大门是关着的。
圣彼得说，“太好了，阿甘，看到你真是太好了。我们听说过很多关于你的故事。不过我得告诉你，现在天堂已经快满员了，所以最近我们对所有新来的人员都实施入门考试。考题很短，但是你必须通过了才能够进入天堂。”
阿甘回答，“真高兴能来这里，彼得先生。但从未有人告诉过我还要考试。真希望考试不要太难。我在地上的生活已经是道很大的难题了。”
彼得接着说，“是，这我知道，阿甘，但是我只有三个问题。
第一题：
一周内哪两天是以字母T开头的？
第二题：
一年有多少秒？
第三题：
上帝的名字是什么？”

阿甘找了一个地方仔细想了一下这几个问题。第二天他回到圣彼得那里，他向阿甘打招呼说，“现在你已经有过机会仔细思考这些问题了，告诉我你的答案吧。”
阿甘回答说，“好的，第一个问题--一周内哪两天是以字母T开头的？这没什么，真是太简单了。应该是今天和明天。”
圣彼得眼睛睁得圆圆的，大声说，“阿甘，这不是我想到的答案，但是你说的也有点对，我想是我没有把题目说清楚，所以这个问题就算你对了。下一个问题的答案呢？圣彼得问到。”(圣彼得想的答案是Tuesdayand Thursday)
“一年有多少(Second)秒？这个问题有点难，”阿甘回答，“但是这个问题我想了又想，我想唯一的答案是十二。”
彼得听了大吃一惊,问道，“十二？天哪，你是如何得出一年有十二秒的呢？”
阿甘回答，“太简单了，就是十二：一月二号，二月二号，三月二号。。。”
“等一下，”圣彼得打断道：“我明白你是如何得出答案的了，我也明白你的想法了，虽然这根本就不是我想要的。但是这个我也只好算你是对的。那让我们继续第三个，最后的问题。你能告诉我上帝的名字吗？”（英语里，second可以是秒，也是每月的二号。）
“当然了，”阿甘回答，“上帝的名字叫Andy。”
“Andy！”圣彼得真是觉得这太无可思议了，也弄不明白他怎么会这么回答。
“好了，我能够明白你是怎么给出前两个问题的答案的，但是你到底是怎么想到Andy是上帝的名字的？”
“哦，这是三个问题中最简单的一个了，”阿甘回答道。
“我从一首歌曲里学到的，Andy和我同行又和我谈心
并对我说我属于他”（Andy在美国南部And He的发音跟Andy的发音是一样的。）
圣彼得打开了天堂之门，说：“跑，阿甘，快跑！”
